Job Summary
Small law firm seeking a detail\-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. The firm works on plaintiff\-side civil rights dispute. The ideal candidate will be self\-directed, extremely organized, have good time management, and feel comfortable speaking professionally and personably with clients. This role involves supporting attorneys in various legal tasks, including research, drafting documents, managing case files, scheduling clients, conducting intakes and carrying out the vast majority of administrative tasks within the firm. Paralegals are the backbone of a strong law practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and notices.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed accurately and timely.
- Manage project timelines and assist in coordinating case management activities.
- Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information for cases.
- Support attorneys during litigation processes by preparing exhibits and trial materials.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards.
- 1 year work experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.
- Knowledge of civil procedure and experience drafting and filing in Oregon state or federal court.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self\-motivated.
